Privacy Policy
Kickstart is made by Hudson Heavy Industries Ltd. We do not use advertising trackers or collect general analytics about how you use the app. This policy explains what stays on your devices and what you choose to share when using online features.
Why We Use Your Information
We use personal information where necessary to provide the services you request. We also rely on our legitimate interests in keeping Kickstart secure and reliable, preventing misuse, and resolving technical problems.
Your Projects and Connected Accounts
Your projects are stored on your Mac and in your personal iCloud account. Credentials for services you connect are stored securely on your Mac and can be synced through iCloud. Kickstart uses them to access the services you authorize.
Keyword Research
You choose whether to use local tracking or have Kickstart analyze keywords on our servers. Local tracking sends searches directly to Apple without uploading your tracked keyword list to us.
If you enable server analysis, Kickstart securely sends us your keywords, selected countries and platforms, and public App Store listing. We use keyword data to provide rankings, popularity, difficulty, and history. Your revenue data and Apple account credentials are not included.
You can change your choice in Settings. Switching to local tracking stops further uploads of your tracked list, but does not automatically delete information already sent.
Online Services and AI
Features such as competitor research, currency conversion, and stock media searches share the information needed for your request with the relevant service providers.
Built-in AI runs on your Mac or through Apple's private AI services. If you connect an external AI assistant, information shared with it is handled according to that provider's privacy policy.
Feature Requests
Kickstart's Feature Requests board uses Kickstart Signal. When you submit feedback, comment, or vote, it sends the content, your Kickstart Pro status, and a random installation identifier. Signal stores a hash of the identifier to count votes and limit abuse. Feedback stays private until the developer publishes it. Signal processes Apple-signed app verification transiently and uses expiring keyed digests of connecting addresses for abuse prevention. Who Processes Your Information
If you choose to subscribe to the Kickstart newsletter, we use your email address to send Kickstart news, tips, and ideas for growing your apps. Kit manages subscriptions and delivers these emails. You can withdraw your consent using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter. Kit retains subscription and unsubscribe records to manage your preferences.
We use hosting, content delivery, and other service providers to operate Kickstart's online features. These providers process the information needed to deliver those services.
Website and Diagnostics
Our website counts page visits without identifying individual visitors in those counts. Our service providers process connection information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect our online services.
We collect limited information about service usage and errors to keep online features reliable. If you enable support logging in the app, those logs stay on your Mac unless you choose to send them to us.
How Long We Keep Information
Inactive tracked keyword lists are normally deleted after 90 days without an update. Error reports are normally deleted after 30 days. Public App Store results and aggregate service statistics may be retained longer to provide historical comparisons and monitor service performance.
Your Rights
Keyword records are stored using a random installation identifier. Your name and email address are not included in keyword uploads.
If you share personal information with us directly, such as through a support email, you can contact hello@kickstart.tools to request access, correction, deletion, or restrictions on its use, where applicable.
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can also raise privacy concerns with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
